The nearest international airport to Tartu is in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia,
connected with most Scandinavian (and some other European) capitals via frequent direct flights
There are also several ferries per day to and from Helsinki and an
overnight ferry to/from Stockholm
The bus trip from Tallinn to Tartu takes approximately 2hrs 30min.
There will be buses organized by the conference departing on June 9th and June 10th
from the Tallinn Airport and ferry terminals and back to Tallinn on June 12th -
departure times announced soon on this page. The price for the one-way journey will be
approximately 15 EUR.
We will certainly take care of the transportation of late arrivals - do let us know
if your planned arrival time to Tallinn is later than 21:00

It is also possible to take a regular bus from the Tallinn Bus station
(about 5-10min taxi drive from the Airport, the taxi trip costing about 60EEK ~ 4EUR,
bus trip about 10 EUR). There is a bus in every 30 minutes (see
Baltic participants may also consider the direct bus connection between Riga and Tartu
(one bus per day) or driving by car.
Citizens of EU/EEA member countries do not need a visa to come to Estonia.
The travel document required for them to enter Estonia is the
personal ID card or passport.
