The Nordic Region and the Baltic Group of the International Biometric Society
(www.tibs.org) welcome you to the
The conference is hosted by the
Institute of Mathematical Statistics
and the
Department of Public Health,
University of Tartu, Estonia.
Tartu University is among the oldest universities in the Nordic-Baltic area, founded in 1632 by the Swedish
king Gustav II Adolph. Nowadays it is a modern, fast-growing university with high academic standards for both
teaching and research.
The conference venue, new building for Faculty of Mathematics and Computer science of Tartu University
(J. Liivi street 2), is located right in the heart of the city and offers all modern facilities.
The conference offers excellent opportunities for learning about recent advances in biometry, exchanging research
experiences and getting to know colleagues from your neighboring countries. The social program (welcome reception
on the first and confence dinner on the second day) offers plenty of time for informal discussions and some fun.
It is also a very good time of the year to visit Estonia and the old and charming university town Tartu, when
everything is fresh green and in blossom, the nights are short and sun is shining until very late in the evening.
