The Finnish Doctoral Programme in Stochastics and Statistics (FDPSS) and Estonian Doctoral School in Mathematics and Statistics, are arranging a joint seminar in Tartu on September 10-11, 2010. This is a forum where doctoral students from both side can introduce their research topics and present results. Previous seminars of this series were held in Tartu in 2002 and 2006.

The seminar is hosted by the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, University of Tartu. Tartu University is among the oldest universities in the Nordic-Baltic area, founded in 1632 by the Swedish king Gustav II Adolph. Nowadays it is a modern, fast-growing university with high academic standards for both teaching and research. As biggest and oldest in Estonia, it serves as national university of the country.
